In accordance with 2023 Wisconsin Act 20, Isthmus Montessori Academy Public (IMAP) has developed and published this Early Literacy Reading Remediation Plan to meet the requirements outlined in Wisconsin Statutes § 118.016(6).
Act 20 mandates that all public and independent charter schools administer universal early literacy screeners to students in grades 4K through 3, notify families of results, and provide intervention plans for learners identified as “at-risk.” Schools must also post their reading remediation plans publicly to demonstrate compliance with statutory requirements regarding assessment systems, intervention strategies (including supports for characteristics of dyslexia), progress monitoring, family communication, and data use.
This document reflects IMAP’s commitment to evidence-based, systematic early literacy instruction aligned with the science of reading and our Montessori principles. It fulfills all statutory obligations under Act 20 and serves as the official plan posted in accordance with § 118.016(6)(d).
