Primary Level or “Children’s House”

The curriculum of the Primary Class is mostly individual lessons and some group lessons about practical life, the sensorial materials, language, mathematics, geometry, music, art, biology and geography.

This level includes learners between the ages of two and a half to around the age of six. Learners may enter any time of year when they are toilet trained and at approximately two and a half to three years of age.

The Primary Level includes learners who are a part of both the private, non-profit (3k) as well as the public charter school (4K and 5K).

HALF DAY PROGRAM: Families of learners in 3K and 4K may choose between half-day and full-day options. Half-day programming is available for learners in 3K (tuition-based) from 8am – 12pm, and learners in 4K (public charter) from 8am – 11:30 am. This option considers an uninterrupted morning work cycle, snack, and outdoor exploration.

FULL DAY PROGRAM: For 4K learners, the morning half-day program is publicly funded through our charter school and is free of tuition. Afternoon “wrap-around” care is available from 11:30 AM–3:00 PM through the Gets Kids Ready program supported by DCF. Together, this allows 4K learners to attend a full day at no cost to families.

Learners in 5K attend the public charter school for the full day, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at no cost to families.

The full-day program includes an uninterrupted morning work cycle, snack, and outdoor exploration. In the afternoon, 5-year-old learners continue with an additional work cycle, while 3- and 4-year-old learners are offered a period of quiet rest after lunch.
