The primary goal of the Governance Board is to work towards understanding of the Montessori Method of Education and to ensure that the school’s functioning aligns with the school’s vision, mission, and core values and that the school operates in compliance with all state, federal, and local legal obligations.
The Governance Board will be responsible for the establishment and monitoring of the strategic plan, fundraising efforts, and advising on some of the school’s policies. When the Governance Board develops policy and/or makes procedural changes, policies will be submitted to the IMAP Board for final approval based on fidelity to AMI Montessori principles. Additionally, the Governance Board supports and promotes the school through involvement and guidance in student recruitment, fundraising and capital campaigns, fostering partnerships within the community, and coordinating school events.
