Per the Montessori Method, adults are trained to closely observe the classroom and create an education plan unique to each individual. When further questions arise, we begin students in the Child Study Process. Child Study is a process that begins with a family meeting and involves expanding to a larger team approach to support the needs of the child. Typical members of a Child Study Team include family members, classroom guides, other program level guides, the Heads of School, and other members of school leadership. This way, IMA(P) can ensure that the student and family has a comprehensive team of individuals as a resource.

After observation, implementation of strategies and interventions, the team comes together to decide on pursuing an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Once referred to Special Education, the Child Study Team will continue to work in tangent with case managers and resources to best support the child.
